The process of home buying in this market is very stressful. You don’t have much time to make a decision and you worry you could miss something important.We contracted Jessie at Home Standards Inspection Services. Jessie had a complete report for us, as would be expected. But Jessie went beyond that and walked us through the entire house and yard and pointed out everything that was in the report and more. He gave advice on how often we should monitor or service different things and demonstrated what to look for if something was deteriorating. He answered all of our many questions. The experience gave us peace of mind that we made the right decision putting an offer on the house and gave us the knowledge of what was important to monitor in the future. Had two different homes inspected by Jessie F. He was very knowledgeable and was able to catch many little details and problems as well as explain why said things were problems and what could be done to improve the house and so on. This is our second time using Jessie to inspect our home. We used him when we bought our house and we have used him now for our Pre-Inspection for selling our house now too. Very disappointing inspection done on my house. Paul was recommended by my realtor, but when it was time to review the inspection, Paul had not been on the roof to inspect it. It had rained that day and the roof was wet, so he did not try to get on the roof, which is understandable. When questioned on what he would do about not having the roof inspected (either take money off the bill or come back another day to complete the inspection), he started getting defensive saying he climbed up a ladder to glance at it, which was just as acceptable as actually getting up on the roof. I had to get another roofer to come out to actually inspect the roof. Paul found 3 windows that needed replaced due to rot, but he left out a fourth that was just as bad as the other 3. I suspect Paul either didn’t detail that window on the report or he never actually inspected it like he claimed, or he would’ve seen the rot. Now I’m on the hook to pay the full replacement cost when the sellers paid for the other 3. Lesson learned that sometimes inspectors are simply guys with a truck and a ladder as there is no certification or licensing required in NE. I would not hire Paul in the future.

Oh my gosh!!!! Jon was amazing! Buying a house built in 1909, thought it best to get inspection. Only thing Jon left out of the report was which way the water swirled when you flushed the toilet! I read a lot of good reviews online where people said that their inspector was very knowledgeable and explained everything. Our inspector was knowledgeable but did not seem very willing to explain much or want to show us the findings.We mentioned we were first time homebuyers and asked quite a few questions to indicate that we didn't know much of the jargon that the inspector used. However, the overall impression felt like he just wanted to leave and not show us or expound much on any of the findings.Definitely not the experience I was expecting.

He also gave us two copies of a printed out check list of things that needed to be completed (with pictures), one for our builder and one for us. Overall it was a great value for the money and I would highly recommend to anyone buying a new home.

Steve was absolutely fantastic. He went over all of the information from his walk through but also answerd all of the questions we had. He even took the time to point out things that might seem concerning but were ultimately not a big deal. He gave opinions on what might need attention sooner rather than later, offered insight as to what he was looking for, and told us the red flags that we might see around the house on various monitors, meters, etc. And at the end he sent us off with a binder of everything clearly written and sent it again in PDF form. It was very easy to call and get a quote and schedule the inspection that same week. Aaron was prompt, respectful of the property, and thorough. I appreciate that he wore his mask the entire time. He explained everything very clearly to me after the inspection was complete. He used a mobile printer to print a binder with the full report, in addition to sending it via email. He took clear pictures of every issue. For a 670-sq-ft house, I paid $365, and it took just under 4 hours total, from knocking on my door to leaving. Jessie performed the home inspection for the house I wish to purchase as a first time home buyer. He began at 1pm and met us promptly at 4pm to go over his inspection with us. It was a very hot, humid day. He had been climbing on the roof, peering the chimney and gutters, poking around the entire house inside and out, top to bottom, for three hours, and here he was in dress pants and button up shirt -- not sure about a tie, but I think so -- masked and standing at a distance of six feet. He gave me a copy of the report in a three-ring binder, a copy to my realtor, and began swiftly, but not hurried, to professionally and expertly guide us through his impeccably researched findings. So detailed, that report! It's a beautiful thing. So if I end up with that house as my home, I have projects all lined up, and oddly or not, that makes me happy; I feel so much more comfortable knowing what the issues are with the house, what to present to the sellers agent to deal with immediately, what can wait, and about how long the wait can be. Home Standards is the way to go. Jon went through the entire house with me and even went beyond what I expected and explained how things worked or why it didn't work and other things like that. I am really impressed with the quality of work. I also had questions before and I am sure after. He responded within the day. Very personable and I believe a great price. I also asked to just make sure to watch for specific areas where mold may be an issue because I have had issues with that in the past, more or less water. Of course a mold/moisture test is separate costs and inspection but it was really important to me and he advised there was no indication to him that any issues found were a current issue. Tim at Home Standards did a great job with our home inspection. He was very thorough and took the time to answer all of the questions I had, and there were a lot! Everything I needed to know about the inspection was given to me in a binder that is so easy to access information from!

Jon was there when I got to the new house and was all done. He explained everything he found and answered any questions I had. He even showed me how my sump pumps worked because I had never had a sump pump before He was very good. Would definitely use again.

Very impressed with the thoroughness, the knowledge, and the professionalism of the two inspectors whom we hired to give us a report on the condition of the house my son and I are interested in purchasing. Most of all, they both took the time to answer all our many questions in simple and easy to understand terminology so that we would become thoroughly knowledgeable about anything, especially in regard to safety issues, concerning the house in question. Steve also made it known that he is always available to answer any further questions or concerns that might arise from us or from the people we will be hiring to repair the minor issues. Forrest was amazing. I am a realtor and have dealt with many inspectors before , but my aunt MO told me to give them a try for when I was buying my own house. Tim did an excellent job with our inspection. He arrived on time and was quick and efficient while being very thorough. Whole process took around 3 hours and at the end he took the time to go through the results so we could understand each item. Would definitely use them again.

We had a great experience with Home Standards Inspection Services. I made the appointment via their website. It was easy to find a day and time that worked. A confirmation email was sent later with what to expect. On the day of, the inspector sat down with a list of what was inspected and any issues that were discovered with plenty of pictures. He was very clear about what he did, what he saw and what he expected to see. After, he walked us around the house to visually show everything he encountered and then provided us with both a digital and paper copy of the inspection. He was professional, very thorough, open to questions, and clearly knew what he was talking about. I would definitely recommend working with them. Note: our inspector was Jessie Fisher.

They were quick to get our new house inspection scheduled and the online payment was fast and easy. Paul was our inspector, he was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. He pointed out a few minor issues on the house and gave us tips on what we could do to fix them. Luckily there were no major issues and we left happy. Shortly after moving in we found a rotten window in the bedroom. It had obviously not been opened in quite sometime. I contacted Paul and told him about it and also sent pictures. He was very nice on the phone and apologized on missing it. He had us get a quote to fix it and they would cover the cost to repair it. We had Rainbow Glass come out for a quote the guy said it would be a difficult task to repair and new slates would need to be ordered. After several days and phone conversations between our agent, Paul, Jon (vice president) and myself we finally worked out an agreeable arrangement. I am happy with the outcome and I'm glad we picked a small and locally owned reputable company.
